Heathfield School: ICT and Food Technology
Constant expansion on this secondary school site over the last 10 years had left very little site area left for further growth required to meet curriculum changes. An innovative approach favoured by the school resulted in building over a rather drab looking system built single storey concrete panelled building with serious roofing problems. The new building comprising ICT, Food Technology and associated rooms was formed with large span steel lattice girders bridging over and extending beyond the footprint of the existing building.
